Two houses, the same hosts

Choose your house at Massanutten,
with the same hosts at both.

In short

Laura and Michael host two six-bedroom homes at Massanutten Four Seasons Resort in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley. The Palmer Summit is bright and open, with ski-slope views and a home theater. The Gilded Grouse is a lamplit house that backs onto the woods, with a 1,500-square-foot deck and a mountainside yard. Both have a hot tub and a sauna. At both, pets and parties are not allowed, and quiet hours run from 10 PM to 7 AM.

Which house

Choose the house that fits your trip.

Both have six bedrooms and the same hosts. Here's how we'd choose between them.

Come home at dusk to the back of the house glowing, with string lights over the deck, outdoor ping pong ready to play and the mountainside yard spread out in front.
Step off the deck into the woods

The Gilded Grouse

Spend the afternoon on a 1,500-square-foot deck with a hot tub and sauna while the kids have the mountainside yard, then come in to lamplit rooms in deep navy, forest and plum. Undeveloped forest starts right behind the house.

Choose it when your group wants a 1,500-square-foot deck, a mountainside yard for the kids, the woods right out back and rooms with real atmosphere.

  • Bedrooms: 6
  • Bathrooms: 4 full and 1 half
  • Sleeps: 16
  • Deck: 1,500 square feet, with outdoor dining for 16

Pull up to The Palmer Summit at dusk, with the lights on across the front deck and the trees of Massanutten all around the house.
Watch the ski slopes from the deck

The Palmer Summit

Watch the ski slopes from the front deck, unwind out back in the hot tub and sauna or at the fire table, and spend the evening in the 98-inch home theater or the game room below. Sit all 16 down at one table for dinner.

Choose it when your group wants big views of the ski slopes, a home theater and a bright, airy house.
